An Accident Inside a Private Development: What the Record Shows About Alerting Authorities at Querencia Los Cabos

On March 25, 2025, at about 10:15 a.m., a truck bearing Querencia markings rear-ended a golf cart on Boulevard Querencia, inside the Querencia development (Fraccionamiento Querencia) in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico. A 5-year-old girl was thrown from the cart. According to a statement in the investigation file, she was then struck by Querencia's truck, which weighs more than 500 kilograms (over 1,100 pounds). No notice reached the police from the scene: it was Hospital H+ Los Cabos, not anyone on Querencia's staff, that brought the accident to the authorities' attention. According to a police report dated March 27, 2025, the development's head of security told the investigator that the truck "was taken away by a tow truck moments after the accident" (translated from Spanish) to a body shop. It was inspected there on March 26, 2025, not at the scene. This page does not rate Querencia Los Cabos safety; it sets out what is on record about one accident.

The place

Querencia Los Cabos, in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, is a private development. Querencia describes itself on its website, qcabo.com (accessed October 8, 2026), as "Querencia Private Golf & Beach Club in Los Cabos".

That site lists the development's location as Fraccionamiento Querencia, Carretera Transpeninsular km 27.5, Palmilla, San José del Cabo.

The crash happened on Boulevard Querencia, a road within the development. The truck struck the golf cart from behind.

From the scene to the hospital

The girl was thrown from the golf cart in the crash. According to a statement in the investigation file, she was then struck by Querencia's truck, which weighs more than 500 kilograms (over 1,100 pounds). A report of the prosecutors' traffic-offenses unit dated March 27, 2025, and the early-response unit's notice place her arrival at Hospital H+ Los Cabos at around 10:40 a.m.

That unit, the Unidad de Atención Temprana, is an early-response unit of the state prosecutors' office (Ministerio Público), the agency that investigates crimes in Mexico.

She was accompanied, among others, by the club's doctor, who is under investigation.

How the authorities found out

The police got no notice from the place where the crash happened. The first word to the authorities came from Hospital H+ Los Cabos, not from Querencia's staff.

Hospital H+ Los Cabos gave notice to state prosecutors; its notice to the Ministerio Público bears the time 12:20 p.m. on March 25, 2025.

The hospital also reported the accident through C2, the municipal command and monitoring center. Municipal police (Policía Municipal), the local force, took up that report at 12:54 p.m. At that point, according to a report of the prosecutors' traffic-offenses unit dated March 27, 2025, municipal traffic police "had not received a report of this incident" (translated from Spanish).

The 12:20 p.m. notice to prosecutors and the 12:54 p.m. report through C2 are separate acts. Municipal officers arrived at the hospital at 1:15 p.m. and, at 2:31 p.m., alerted the early-response unit. That unit, in turn, alerted the Policía de Investigación, the state investigative police, at 2:59 p.m.

The chain is told step by step in how the authorities found out.

Where the truck and the golf cart went

According to the police report dated March 27, 2025, the development's head of security told the investigator that the truck "was taken away by a tow truck moments after the accident" (translated from Spanish) to a body shop. According to a statement in the investigation file, the truck was moved "without justification and with unusual promptness," which "makes it impossible to carry out any further investigative act," whether by the prosecutor's office or by independent experts (translated from Spanish). Who ordered the tow, and why, is not on record.

The golf cart was inspected at 6:23 p.m. on March 25, 2025, in the club's parking lot; the inspection records place its impact damage at the rear.

The truck showed damage at the front (grille, bumper, hood and front frame), according to the same records. It was inspected at 12:26 p.m. on March 26, 2025, at the body shop, not at the scene.

Both inspections are covered in the vehicle inspections.
